BAKERSFIELD PAL EDUCATIONAL
PROGRAMS

T U T O R I N G
We have a quality tutoring
program that helps children ages 8-17 (3rd - 12th grade) with their homework.
Children are given help by volunteers on a one to one basis. The Tutoring
Program is Monday - Thursday from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. Snacks are provided for the kids. This
program is volunteer intensive. Tutors from our staff, volunteers, Americorps,
and CSUB credential candidates work with Elementary, Middle School and High
School groupings on homework, reading, math and special reports and assignments.
The staff and volunteers afford the children a three to one ratio of
tutors to children. BPAL has increased the number of children consistently
attending the after school tutorial to about 60 children per day. When the tutorial
session is over for the day, we
find that many children stay at the center and work on the computers in the
computer lab.
To enroll your child in this
program, call BPAL at 661-283-8880 or come by our facility and request a Membership Form. There is no
cost.
